Guys, the robot is done.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate this? Last year it wasn't done on time and I'm sure Mrs. Nichols was pulling her hair out, but this year, we rocked it.
Our little Date Night...Could we consider it successful? Yes. The night was exhausting, but it was all twinkling lights and school tables with plastic pink tablecloths on them, and community members chuckling at the Robotics teens zipping around with plates of steaming spaghetti and glasses of ginger ale or fruit punch. Serving people is nerve-wracking. Waiting tables...not in any of our futures, I can tell you. The people loved it.
Competition is weeks away and now we sit on our butts thinking about cleaning but probably not going to because who cleans when they should...honestly. The edges are becoming rounder and everything's getting tidier. Biding the time...that's what it's called when everyone is bored and hardly bickering and we don't have a robot to bend and butt heads over.
Also, people still don't know how to sort batteries.
You'd think six weeks would be enough for them to learn.
